LOWA's 2024-2025 Ice Climbing Season
Ice climbing season is right around the corner! We’re excited to announce that we’ll be supporting four festivals in the 2024-2025 season. Ice festivals are a great way to learn new skills and try out new gear like the LOWA ALPINE ICE GTX and ALPINE EXPERT II GTX ice-climbing and winter mountaineering boots.
Bozeman Ice Festival
Bozeman, Montana | December 11-15, 2024
Every winter, the waterfalls of Hyalite Canyon outside of Bozeman, Montana freeze to form some of the best ice climbing in the US. And for 28 years, world-class mountaineers, climbers, and athletes of all skill levels and ages have flocked to Bozeman Ice Festival for a taste. Enjoy climbing demos throughout Hyalite Canyon, climbing demos and classes from professional athletes, and events like the Kendal Mountain Film Festival within this event.
Our own LOWA ambassadors Carlos Buhler and Jeff Shapiro will be attending Bozeman Ice Festival and teaching clinics to climbers who reserve a spot in their classes.

Ouray Ice Festival
Ouray, Colorado | January 23-26, 2025
Nestled in a small town in Southwestern Colorado, Ouray Ice Park is the largest human-made ice park in the world. With only a three-month operating window and free admission to the public during its season, Ouray Ice Park’s annual festival is its main source of fundraising income. The legendary Ouray Ice Festival offers over 200 ice and mixed routes spread out over two miles up Uncompahgre Gorge, leaving climbers plenty of room to explore and reach new heights.
In 2025, LOWA’s Carlos Buhler and John Roskelley will be among the professional athletes leading clinics for expert and new ice climbers alike. The ice festival includes a climbing competition, demos from vendors, and evening films and presentations. There’s even a famous dance party on Saturday night.

Adirondack International Mountainfest
Keene Valley, NY | February 7-9, 2025
For East Coasters craving some ice action, the Adirondack International Mountainfest is a three-day celebration of all things ice and snow. Organized by LOWA retailer, The Mountaineer, this event features climbing and gear demos. Make sure to snag a free LOWA boot demo while you’re there.

Michigan Ice Festival
Munising, Michigan | February 12-16, 2025
Michigan Ice Festival in Munising, Michigan lies on the coast of Lake Superior in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. For over 30 years, climbers from all over the state, the US, and the world have come to enjoy the winter wonderland that is the UP in February.
Attendees to MIF have plenty to do on and off the wall. Take shuttle transport to open climbing sessions, demo new gear from brands like LOWA. Check out smaller festival events like speed dating, meetups, and the annual dance party.
During the evening, MIF hosts presentations and films from elite athletes like LOWA’s own Marcus Garcia.
